Say What? T Mobile and Apple release the “Business Unlimited Unlimited + for iPhone”

Business Unlimited Ultimate+ for iPhone

T-mobile offers a new wireless plan for business lines aptly named “Business Unlimited Unlimited + for iPhone” (Rolls right off the tongue). It is targeted at winning back small businesses from Verizon and Att or Dish. Formulated as a way for iPhone-centric firms to gain an edge, it comes with some massive perks that a mobile entrepreneur or one who may travel on the road for work would appreciate.

What’s included:

The new “Business Unlimited Unlimited + for iPhone” comes out of the gate with some very nice perks. The plan comes with Apple Care + an iPhone 13 (no matter how many lines you add ), Apple Business Essentials, which is handier than you think due to its 24/7 Apple support, Device management options including easy provisioning, etc. Along with the requisite apple Icloud storage also included (default is 50GB’s), T-mobile adds to this their data plan offering Unlimited Talk, Text, and Premium Smartphone data. If this sounds like Magenta Max, you would be right; save in one key area… This plan comes with a whopping 200GB per line of high-speed hotspot data per month.

How it benefits the mobile Nomad:

If you are an Apple fan or shun the Apple hardware like the plague, the 200GB of hotspot data is no joke. For the mobile worker who, during the day, works on the web and at night enjoys some entertainment, 200GB can be an entire month’s worth of data. It should be noted that this business data plan does not have the restrictions that other “Business plans” have on their data, such as no streaming media, etc.

We at the Mobile Internet Gateway always advocate for multiple options for getting online, and this new plan is an excellent way to add Tmobile to your available options to get online. If you are interested in getting this plan, you must show that you operate a business. To that end, it is relatively easy to qualify for a T-mobile business account as the setup process only requests an EIN, and that’s easy enough to get from the IRS. Have questions about an EIN? Best to ask your accountant.

The Integration Advantage:

Apple’s deep integration with its products and services is nothing to take lightly. As this author is discovering, the ease of pairing and tethering apple devices to other apple devices is as simple as one click. When you need internet on an Apple laptop, you just click on your iPhone from the command center, and presto, the tethering connection is made. It’s just drop-dead simple to do, unlike Android and windows.

You need to get out your Android and unlock the phone on an Android device. Swipe down the notification tray and again to access the options and enable tethering. Then on your windows device, you need to find the Wi-Fi network your device is outputting and connect. It’s 2022, not 2007, and this level of extra steps is unacceptable for Apple. It’s one click done, drop dead simple.

The hidden details:

This new plan has some artificial limitations that can be changed by selecting specific options. The first option that can be modified is on device 4k UHD streaming. This plan, as default, will only allow SD content on the plan unless you activate 4k UHD streaming. The following limitation, which you cannot change, happens after the 200GB tethering cap is hit. If you are not prepared, it will be a rude awakening as the speed will slow down to 3g speed at (brace yourself) 1.5 Mbps Max. If you are traveling internationally, the plan is capped at 5GB and then slowed down to a slow 3g speed at 256kb. It’s still unlimited, but at that speed, the only thing you will be doing is checking your e-mail.
